Ingredients:
- 2 cups chickpeas (soaked overnight)
- 2 medium onions (finely chopped)
- 2 tomatoes (pureed)
- 1-inch ginger (grated)
- 3-4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tsp chole masala
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander for garnish
Recipe:
- Boil the soaked chickpeas with salt until soft. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and temper cumin seeds. Add onions, ginger, and garlic; sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in tomato puree, turmeric, red chili powder, and chole masala. Cook until the oil separates.
- Add the boiled chickpeas along with some of the cooking water. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with bhature or rice.
